Donatella Riccio Vasatzi, a painter and professor was born in 1951 in Florence. She studied at the "Florence State Institute of Art" and was awarded the Master of Arts degree in "Pittura murale" (mural painting), under the supervision of Professor Renzo Grazzini.
She taught Art and History of the Arts in an Italian secondary school while at the same time working in the production and maintenance of Scagliola tables at the workshop of B. Bianchi in Florence.
She attended courses in painting landscapes and the nude form hosted by Professor Lin De Lija at the "Accademia dello Sprone" of Florence.
Since 1979 she has been living in Thessaloniki, Greece where she taught History of the Arts at the Italian Cultural Institute. She has also organized and conducted seminars on painting still life and the techniques of oil and crayfish painting. She gave lectures on the works of the great protagonists of Italian arts in the context of Italian cultural events. Her paintings have been displayed in six (6) solo and five (5) group exhibitions.
Her works are hosted in numerous private and public collections around the world.
